  1. Full-Time Commitment: The EiR position is a full-time role at IISc and cannot be pursued part-time.

  2. Collaboration with Faculty: Participants will work closely with an IISc faculty member.

  3. Intellectual Property (IP): Any IP arising from projects will be jointly held by the EiR (or the subsequent company) and IISc.

  4. Incubation at IISc: The subsequent companies arising from this program will have incubation opportunities at FSID, IISc.

Q: Who is eligible to apply?

Idea-stage founders with registered companies, PhD graduates, Postdocs, and Tech professionals with innovative ideas in longevity and healthy aging are welcome. 

Q: What kind of support will participants receive?
EiRs will get a Kickstarter grant and access to labs at IISc to build their POCs or prototypes. They will benefit from mentorship, funding opportunities, and networking platforms.

Q. What is the grant amount that I will receive?

The grant money will be subject to the kind of solution you need to build on a case-by-case basis. 

Q. Is there monetary compensation for the EiRs? 

The grant allocation can also be used to support team members’ fellowships, the allocation will be decided by the EiRs.

Q: Can I apply with an idea outside the listed themes?
Yes, innovative ideas aligning with the program's goals are encouraged, as long as the solution needs deep-science or technology innovations. 

Q: Can I pursue the EiR position part-time?

No, the EiR position requires a full-time commitment and cannot be pursued part-time. You have to be at IISc in-person to build the solution. 

Q. Who will own the intellectual property (IP) arising from my project?

The intellectual property (IP) generated during the program will be jointly held by the company formed and IISc.

Q. Will FSID or Rainmatter Foundation invest in my company?

FSID and Rainmatter Foundation will have the first right of refusal for investment in any companies formed as a result of this program.

Q. How often does the EiR program run?

The program operates on an annual cycle and evolves based on feedback and outcomes from each cycle.

Q. Is there a fee to participate in the Ideathon or EIR program?

No, there is no fee to participate in the Ideathon. Details about funding for EIR participants will be shared with selected candidates.
